Kiwise works with a number of data sources that are not inherently connected such as Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Facebook, Campaign Monitor and sales data from Xero.
To create monthly reports for their clients required a lot of manual labour – downloading, cleaning and joining datasets before they could even get into reporting. All of this was time consuming and prone to error and the data was aging.
Even once it was in Excel, there was no visualisation so it was very time consuming to then gather any insights from the data. The core of the problem was the number of disconnected data sources and how to get them to speak to each other seamlessly.
Kent Routen, the founder of Kiwise, was frustrated at having to spend the first week of every month in Excel Hell, collating and getting trying to get insights from his clients’ data.
